NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A subway rider was stabbed in the back by a man who picked a fight with him as he rode a Brooklyn train on Monday afternoon, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance images Tuesday that show the suspect at a turnstile around the time of the attack.

The 49-year-old victim was riding a northbound 2 train approaching the Bergen Street station in Park Slope around 12:40 p.m. when a man got into an argument with him.

The man stabbed the victim in the back with a knife and then fled at the Bergen Street stop, police said.

The victim was transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
