NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a man accused of lunging at a woman aboard a Queens subway train and stealing her phone last week.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, a 59-year-old woman was seated aboard a northbound A train directly across from the suspect, officials said.
When the train was approaching the Rockaway Boulevard station in Ozone Park and the doors opened, the suspect lunged at the woman and snatched the cell phone from her hands, authorities said.
He then fled the station to parts unknown.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with a minor injury to her left shoulder.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red and white jacket and dark colored jeans.
