NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man lying under a box truck in Queens on Thursday was crushed to death when the truck’s driver ran over him and left the scene, police said.
It’s unclear why the unidentified man was lying under the parked box truck in front of 59-20 Borden Ave. in Maspeth, an industrial stretch off the Long Island Expressway that's just steps from an NYPD facility and a Home Depot.
Shortly before 9 a.m., the truck’s driver pulled out from the spot and ran over the man, police said.
The mortally injured man was discovered and rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he died.
Police were still searching for the driver, who kept going after running him over.
