NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage Tuesday of a suspect who allegedly assaulted an on-duty school crossing guard in the Bronx last week.
It happened at around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, a 46-year-old female crossing guard was working at the intersection of Gerard Avenue and East 167th Street.
According to police, the crossing guard was performing her duties when the suspect reportedly punched her in the chest with a closed fist in a random attack.
The suspect fled on foot northbound on Gerard Avenue.
The victim sustained pain to the chest and was treated by EMS at the scene. She later traveled by private means to an area hospital for further treatment.
