
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man who sucker punched an on-duty city bus driver in the face in the Bronx last week.
The NYPD released an image Monday of the suspect they’re searching for in last Tuesday evening’s unprovoked attack in Woodlawn.
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was operating a Bx31 bus at East 242 Street and Van Cortlandt Park at 6:50 p.m. when the man attacked him, police said.
The suspect walked up and punched the bus driver in the face, then fled the scene, according to police.
The victim suffered pain and swelling to his face. He was taken by EMS to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital in stable condition.
