NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man punched a woman in the face in the Grand Central subway and told her he did it because “you are Jewish,” police said Thursday as they launched a hate crime probe.
The NYPD released several images of the suspect they’re searching for in Saturday night’s assault at the Grand Central–42nd Street station.
The 29-year-old victim was in the passageway for 7-line trains when he sucker punched her, police said.

When she asked him why he hit her, he allegedly told her it was because “you are Jewish.”
The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack, according to police.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
