NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are investigating after a man was injured when he was run over by a beach rake while sleeping on the beach in Brooklyn early Friday, authorities said.
According to park officials, the man was wrapped in a blanket on the beach located near Stillwell Avenue in Coney Island at about 3:20 a.m. when he was struck by Parks Department workers who were cleaning.
EMS transported the man to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries, officials said.
Parks Department employees clean the beaches overnight, police said.
