NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was slashed on the street in Manhattan earlier this week in what appears to be a random, unprovoked attack, and police are searching for the suspect.
The 28-year-old victim was walking down Fifth Avenue near W. 27th Street at about 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday when he was approached by a stranger, cops said.
The suspect displayed a sharp cutting instrument and slashed the victim in the right thigh, authorities said, before fleeing south on Fifth Avenue.
Officials said that the victim was taken by private means to NYU Langone Tisch Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Police on Friday released surveillance images of the suspect in hopes of tracking him down.
