NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have released photos on Tuesday of a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted sexual assault over the weekend in Manhattan, where the man allegedly tried to rape a woman.
The assault happened on Sunday around 1:40 a.m. Police said the victim, a 24-year-old woman, was walking near East 23rd Street and 3rd Avenue in Gramercy Park when an unidentified man approached her and forcibly touched her private area.
The suspect then covered the victim's mouth and forced her to the ground, but she was able to escape with minor injuries, authorities said.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading south on 3rd Avenue.
