NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance footage on Friday of a suspect wanted for a completely unprovoked subway stabbing in Brownsville. The suspect allegedly stabbed a man in the back Wednesday night on the stairs of the Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road station.
According to authorities, the attacker did not say a word, did not know the victim, and fled the scene after the attack. He remains at large.
"Crime around here is bad. It is bad. It has a lot more room for improvement," Michael, a transit worker who witnesses the daily conditions at the station told 1010 WINS. "I think that's representative of where we're at as a country overall. Everybody's divided. Everybody's against one another. There's no togetherness right now on so many different levels, so we got a lot of improvement to go."
The victim is currently reported to be in stable condition, and the police investigation remains ongoing.
