NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Four girls were stabbed and slashed Sunday by a crazed relative who was later shot and wounded by police at the blood-splattered home in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.
All four girls—ages 16, 13, 11 and 8—were hospitalized in stable condition and are expected to survive after the stabbing in Bensonhurst.
The suspect, Longqian Chen, 49, was also hospitalized in critical but stable condition. He has a history of mental illness and is said to be the uncle of the girls.

NYPD officers responded around 10:15 a.m. to the brick, two-story home on 84th Street, near 16th Avenue, police said.
The 11-year-old girl called 911 to report her uncle was attacking her and her siblings, according to cops.
When the officers arrived “they heard screams coming from behind the door and immediately began forcing their way into the apartment,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a news conference.
Tisch said bodycam recorded the moment cops broke down the door.

“They encountered a man standing near the entrance holding a large meat cleaver covered in blood. And they could see blood on the floor and the walls,” Tisch said.
“The officers ordered the man to drop the weapon several times,” Tisch continued. “He refused and advanced towards them.”

“Two officers discharged their firearms, firing seven total rounds between them and striking the subject, ending the threat,” the commissioner said.
The bloody meat cleaver and a second knife were found at the home, according to police.
No officers were injured.
Neighbors were trying to make sense of the violence. “It was crazy,” one said.
