Man stabs subway rider over and over on Queens train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released images Monday of a man suspected of repeatedly stabbing a subway rider on a train in Queens over the weekend.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was riding a Manhattan-bound R train at the Steinway Street station in Astoria around 2 a.m. Saturday when he was attacked by the knife-wielding man.

According to police, there was some sort of altercation between the two men, during which the suspect stabbed the rider multiple times in the torso and left leg.

The victim managed to escape the train and was rushed by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.
