NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sexually assault an 85-year-old woman in Brooklyn Thursday morning, the NYPD said.
Charges against the suspect were still pending as of Thursday evening.
Police say the woman was inside the laundry room of a residential building near Marine Avenue and 94th Street in Bay Ridge around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday when a man she didn't know tried to sexually assault her.
The woman reported the attack to police around 11:30 a.m., the NYPD said. She was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police previously described him as a man who appeared to be in his 30s and was last seen wearing dark clothing and white sneakers.
The investigation is ongoing.
