NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man tried to sexually assault a woman on a Manhattan street this week, police said Friday as they released surveillance video of a suspect.
The 23-year-old woman was on W. 52nd Street, near 10th Avenue, in Hell's Kitchen around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday when police said the man approached her from behind and put his hand over her mouth.
The man then shoved the woman to the ground and tried to sexually assault her, police said.
The woman resisted and the man ran off on foot westbound down W. 52nd Street towards 10th Avenue, according to police.
The victim suffered a laceration to her right elbow and a bruised collarbone. She was taken by EMS to Mt. Sinai West in stable condition.
