
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage on Wednesday of a man wanted for two pipe attacks on MTA buses in the Bronx earlier this month.
The first attack happened just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 on board an MTA Bx35 bus in the vicinity of 165th Street and Third Avenue in Morrisania. The suspect made a loud statement and struck a 31-year-old man on the head with a metal pipe, police said.
Hours later, at 11:20 p.m., an 18-year-old man was onboard an MTA Bx19 bus within the vicinity of Jennings Street and Southern Boulevard in Charlotte Gardens, when he was approached by the suspect.
According to officials, the suspect became engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim and proceeded to strike him on the head with a metal pipe.
The suspect fled the location on foot to parts unknown in both incidents.
Both victims suffered lacerations to the head and were transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
