NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 73-year-old man was beaten with his own cane at a subway stop in Brooklyn this week, leaving him hospitalized with a broken arm, police said.

The NYPD released an image Wednesday of a suspect in the assault Monday afternoon at the 86th Street station in Gravesend.

The victim was attempting to board a Coney Island-bound N train just after 4 p.m. when his attacker stopped him and picked a fight with him, police said.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s cane and used it to beat him, striking him in the head and throughout the body, according to police.

The victim suffered a cut to his right eye and a fractured left arm, police said.

The suspect fled before EMS arrived and transported the victim to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn in stable condition.
