NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly pushed and robbed a 79-year-old man inside a Brooklyn subway station last week.
The NYPD released images Wednesday of the suspect they’re searching for in the July 2 attack inside the Beverly Avenue 2/5 subway station in East Flatbush.
According to police, the victim was walking on a staircase around 3:40 p.m. when a man approached him from behind, pushed him to the ground and took his wallet.
The suspect then ran away, police said. The victim was not injured in the fall, according to cops.
Transit crime in Brooklyn South, which includes the 67th Precinct where the incident occurred, is up 15.2% compared to last year, according to the latest NYPD CompStat data.
