NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance images Monday of a man who allegedly shoved two subway riders onto the tracks on the Upper East Side over the weekend.
The victims—two men, ages 83 and 30—were both attacked unprovoked on Sunday morning at the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station.
According to police, the 30-year-old victim was standing on the southbound Q and F platform of the station around 11:30 a.m. when a man came up from behind and pushed him onto the tracks.
The assailant quickly set his sights on the 83-year-old victim, pushing him onto the tracks, as well, police said.
Neither victim was hit by a train while on the trackbed, and both made it back onto the platform with the help from witnesses.
EMS responded and transported both victims to NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The 83-year-old victim was hospitalized in critical condition, while the 30-year-old was in stable condition.
The suspect fled the platform and hasn’t been seen since.
