NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released photos on Tuesday of a man wanted for a violent robbery and carjacking of a taxi driver in Brooklyn late last month.
The incident occurred on Thursday, April 30, at approximately 3:45 a.m.in Brownsville.
According to officials, a 49-year-old taxi driver picked up the unidentified passenger and was driving in the vicinity of Newport Street and Osborn Street when he requested payment before reaching the final destination. The passenger refused, sparking a heated dispute.

Both men exited the car and the suspect brandished a knife, then jumped behind the wheel of the victim's vehicle and fled. Additionally, the suspect made off with the driver’s wallet, which contained approximately $400 in cash and several credit cards, police said.
The victim sustained minor injuries to his body. EMS transported him to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The stolen vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Osborn Street.
