VIDEO: Man wanted in string of burglaries, assaults in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance footage late Monday of a man wanted in connection with a string of assault and burglaries in Manhattan last month.

The first incident occurred on February 9, at approximately 6:30 hours when the unidentified man entered the Gumbae restaurant located at 67 Murray Street in TriBeCa and removed an iPad from the front desk before fleeing on foot to parts unknown.


According to police, the second incident happened on February 10, at approximately 930 a.m., the suspect entered the Shanghai Mong restaurant located at 30 West 32nd Street through an unlocked door and removed approximately $300 dollars from a cash register before fleeing on foot.

Days later at approximately midnight on February 13, the suspect was involved in a verbal dispute with a 38-year-old man in front of 83 Pearl Street and the suspect stabbed the victim in the face with an unknown sharp object before fleeing southbound on Pearl Street, authorities said.

On February 23, just before 7 a.m., a 60-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in front of 10 Union Square East when she was approached by the suspect.

Police said he then swung a black bag striking the victim in the back of the head, unprovoked, before fleeing toward 14th Street.

The victim sustained swelling to the back of the head.

On Tuesday, February 23, at approximately 8:45 a.m., officials said the suspect entered the Elgin restaurant located at 64 West 48th Street and removed two tablets and approximately $250 dollars from the hostess stand and cash register before fleeing on foot to parts unknown.
