NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who groped a teen girl while aboard a subway train Sunday night in Manhattan, authorities said.

The incident happened at approximately 8:40 p.m. on board a southbound 7 train approaching the Grand Central - 42 Street station in Midtown, officials said.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl was seated on the train when the suspect sat down next to her and tried to initiate a conversation with her.

The man then began to touch the inside of her upper thigh.

The victim got up and moved to another seat on the train car, cops said.

When the train arrived at the Grand Central - 42 Street station, the suspect exited the train, while the victim stayed on board.

She was not physically injured.

Police release a photo of the suspect taken by the victim.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black and white baseball hat, an orange and black jacket, tan pants and tan boots.
