NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A man and woman were found dead with gunshot wounds to their heads in a Brooklyn building Friday afternoon, and a gun was recovered from near the deceased man, the NYPD said.

Officers found the bodies of a 40-year-old man and 43-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to each of their heads in a building on Logan Street in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn at around 4:43 p.m.

Police were responding to a report of a crime in progress in the area of 59 Logan St., near Etna Street.

EMS pronounced the man and woman dead at the scene, and police found a gun near the dead man, authorities said.

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending proper family notification, and their relationship is not currently known, police said.

A police source with knowledge of the case told the New York Daily News that detectives are investigating the possibility that the man shot the woman and then shot himself in a murder-suicide.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
