NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man and woman were killed overnight Saturday in two hit-and-run crashes in Brooklyn and Queens, police said.
The first crash happened around 10:15 p.m. in Midwood. Police said a 77-year-old woman was struck by a white BMW X5 at the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Campus Road.
The woman was crossing Campus Road when the BMW hit her as its driver made a right turn from Nostrand Avenue onto Campus Road, police said.
The driver sped away after striking the woman, who was found by officers responding to a 911 call, according to police.
EMS rushed the woman to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A 23-year-old man was then struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Laurelton, Queens, around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The man was walking along the southbound lanes of the Laurelton Parkway, near 130th Avenue, when he was struck by the vehicle, according to police.
Officers found the man lying on the roadway with body trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
