NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for two men wanted in a Bronx home invasion on Saturday where they tied up a man and stole thousands in cash, officials said Sunday.
The two unidentified men knocked on the door of the victim's first-floor apartment, in a building near the corner of Hoe Avenue and East 163rd Street at around 9 a.m., authorities said.
The 43-year-old man was expecting a package and opened the door when the suspects forced their way inside, according to police.
The men displayed a gun then proceeded to tie the man up, binding his hands with zip ties, while they removed approximately $4,000 dollars, officials said.
The two men fled on foot toward Bruckner Boulevard, the NYPD said.
It appeared that the suspects knew the victim, but that he did not know them, PIX11 reports.
An investigation is ongoing.
Police urge anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
