Man’s headless body found floating in Jamaica Bay in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A headless body was found in the water on the shore of Jamaica Bay in Queens on Friday night, the NYPD said.

At 8:48 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a call for a water rescue at Howard Beach, located at 165th Avenue and Cross Bay Boulevard.

An unidentified man, whose head was severed from his body, sources told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880, was found floating in the water.

The FDNY removed the body and pronounced the man dead.

The release of the man’s identity is pending proper identification and family notification, police said.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
