NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a carjacker who mowed down a man while stealing his car in Brooklyn this month in an assault that broke both of the victim's legs.
The NYPD released surveillance footage Thursday of the suspect they're after in the Aug. 4 carjacking in Cypress Hills.
The 34-year-old victim had left his Toyota Camry running outside a medical office on Liberty Avenue, near Forbell Street, around 2:30 p.m., according to police.

As he returned to the Toyota, a man pushed him aside and took off in the vehicle. As the thief was fleeing, he struck the victim, police said.
The victim suffered multiple fractures to both of his legs. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens in serious but stable condition.
The Toyota was found abandoned a week later in the 113th Precinct, which covers South Jamaica and St. Albans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
