NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Mayor Eric Adams picked up drumsticks for a quick lesson from a street musician that turned into a jam at a COVID-19 testing site in New York City on Wednesday, video shows.
"I know the rhythm of this city!" Adams, 61, tweeted Thursday along with video of the performance.
The musician showed the mayor how to keep time on the hi-hat before teaching him some beats using the kick drum and snare, according to the video.
Adams, wearing a white shirt and black tie, kept playing the drums as the musician started to freestyle and passersby cheered him on.
"Eric Adams on the drums right now and he's playing around," the musician rapped. "One. One. One, two, y'all."
"You the coolest dude, man, you the coolest mayor, man," the drummer said as the mayor walked away from the set.
"Put some money in the bucket," Adams told the crowd.
