NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 26-year-old model and singer, Imani Sharpless, died Thursday — days after she was shot in the head during a dispute over a parking spot at a Home Depot in Brooklyn, police said.

Two GoFundMe fundraisers have been set up—one to cover the funeral costs for Sharpless, and another to cover medical expenses for her boyfriend, Cordel McDuffe, who was shot in the right knee.

Police responded to a 911 call around noon on Sept. 9 that a man and woman had been shot near the Bedford-Stuyvesant Home Depot.

Officers found Sharpless with a gunshot wound to her head and McDuffie with the gunshot wound to his knee. Both were rushed to the NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.

Sharpless was pronounced dead around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

The shooting happened after some verbal back-and-forth with another man in the store's parking lot.

"I blew my horn and we exchanged words," McDuffie told ABC7 NY.

McDuffie ultimately parked in a different spot and went into the store, but the shooter waited for him to return to his car and leave the parking lot before firing once he had a clear shot, police said. A bullet apparently intended for McDuffie instead struck Sharpless.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
