NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 38-year-old mother and her 8-year-old son were seriously injured Wednesday when a school bus crashed through a fence outside a Brooklyn primary school, sources said.

The bus crashed shortly before 8:30 a.m. outside Cortelyou Academy K-5 at Farragut Road and Bedford Avenue in Ditmas Park.

Children were arriving for the day at the private school when the yellow bus went through the wrought iron fence.

“I heard the rumbling, and when the rumbling happened I decided to take a look out the window, and that’s when I noticed the bus had come through the fence,” a staffer at the school said.

Video shows the smashed fence and a crumbled brick wall. The school bus was parked nearby with front-end damage.

The mom and son were rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in serious condition.

The bus driver remained at the scene.
