Mother hospitalized, infant in critical condition after being struck by car in the Bronx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A mother and her baby girl were sent to the hospital on Friday night, the infant in critical condition, after they were struck by a car in the Bronx.

The woman, 34, and her six-month-old child were crossing the street at East 134th Street and St. Ann’s Avenue in the Mott Haven section at about 10 p.m. on Friday when it happened, police said.

They were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.

Officials said that the woman was crossing in the crosswalk at the time of the collision, and the driver remained on the scene.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
