NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A moped rider mowed down a woman as she crossed a street in Upper Manhattan, then fled the scene, leaving her unconscious on the roadway with a broken jaw, police said.

The NYPD released images Wednesday of the suspect they're searching for in the July 15 hit-and-run in Inwood.

The 57-year-old woman was walking at West 218th Street and Broadway around 12:45 p.m. when the moped rider struck her as he traveled southbound on Broadway, police said.

The woman was knocked unconscious and also suffered a broken jaw, according to police.

She was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

Video obtained by WNBC-TV appears to show the suspect briefly stopping as the woman lies face-down and motionless on the pavement.

The victim is a teacher who is expected to recover from her injuries.
