Upon arrival officers were informed that 30-year-old Daniel Vidal was observed lying in the roadway with severe trauma to the body and had been transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed a Vidal was operating a 2021 X-PRO motorcycle traveling northbound on Morgan Avenue at Meadow Street in the bicycle lane, passing stopped traffic when he locked up the rear brakes, causing the motorcycle to skid and strike the curb before falling to the roadway.

A 2022 International truck operated by a 50-year-old manmade a left hand turn onto Morgan Avenue from Meadow Street and ran over Vidal, officials said.

The operator of the truck remained on scene and there is no criminality suspected at this time.

There were no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
