MTA officer injured after car rolls over into Staten Island backyard
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An MTA Bridges and Tunnel Officer was hospitalized on Friday afternoon after his vehicle crashed and rolled over into the backyard of a Staten Island home.
Fire officials said the incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Clifton Avenue and Narrows Road North in the Grasmere section.
Sources told 1010 WINS that the driver hit a light pole and the car flipped over, landing in the home's backyard. The officer suffered leg and hip injuries.
The FDNY said utility officials have been notified that the pole was knocked over.

The officer was transported to Staten Island University Hospital North, officials said.
There are no traffic impacts on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge due to the incident.
