NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The MTA will not raise fares until at least next year, an agency official said Monday.
MTA finance committee chairperson Larry Schwartz made the announcement after a committee meeting Monday afternoon.
"There's not going to be a fare hike in 2021, period," Schwartz said.
The agency was originally set to hike fares this past March, but pushed the increase back due to the financial toll the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on New York City residents.
