NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An MTA worker was wounded in a slashing on a subway train in Queens early Wednesday, police said.
The 54-year-old victim was riding a southbound F train at the Jamaica–179th Street station shortly before 4 a.m. when his attacker got into a dispute with him, it's unclear about what.
As the argument escalated, the man slashed the worker across both hands, police said.
The slasher fled, and the victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens in stable condition.
It was just days ago that a subway stabbing in neighboring Richmond Hill left a woman "fighting for her life," according to the Queens D.A.'s Office. The victim was stabbed and slashed at the Jamaica–Van Wyck station by a man who'd asked her for money, police said. The suspect was charged Tuesday with attempted murder.
