NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio on Monday announced that a new in-person opt-in period for all students will begin later this week.
"We want to ask parents and kids of all grade levels if they want to come back when the opportunity arises," de Blasio said.
The new opt-in process will begin March 24 through April 7 with 3K/Pre-K, elementary and D75 students set to return in April, based on guidelines from CDC.
"Parents who want that opportunity to send their kids back, that opportunity has now arrived," he said.
The opt-in will include middle and high schoolers, but there is still more work to be done for those students before a timeline for their return is decided, de Blasio added.
