NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A cartoonist for The New Yorker was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges, according to state police.
Officials said in state that 64-year-old Danny Shanahan, who resides in Rhinebeck, was charged with possession of a sexual performance by a child.
The child porn was allegedly found on his computer following a Village of Rhinebeck police obtained warrant to search it, according to a report by the Daily Voice.
Police didn't provide and details as to what prompted the investigation.
Shanahan was released and issued a ticket to appear in the Village of Rhinebeck Court on Jan. 20.
Render Stetson-Shanahan, 30, the cartoonists' son was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison earlier this year for fatally stabbing his roommate Carolyn Bush in Queens.
