NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for posing as a nurse on dating apps to meet up kidnap and attack women starting in 2022.
Herman Brightman, 31, of West New York, will also be face three years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York said Tuesday.
Between January 2022 and September 2023 Brightman used Facebook and the dating application Hinge to prey on multiple women under the names Nazir Griffiths and Nazir Luckett.

He "brutalized" at least four women during the attacks which spanned from New Jersey to Mount Vernon and included incidents in Queens and the Bronx, authorities said.
Brightman had been employed as a temp at several hospitals but was never a registered nurse. He sent photos of himself wearing scrubs and lab coats with his name and a Memorial Sloan Kettering lanyard, prosecutors said.
