NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Criminals in New York City have found a new way to hide their guns, according to a report.
Police sources told the New York Post lawbreakers have started stashing weapons inside fanny packs.
And the trend has been on the rise for months, one source told the outlet.
"That's been a huge thing for about a year, everyone carrying in fanny packs," the source said.
"These guys don't use holsters, so the fanny [pack] is probably better than stuffing the gun in your pants," the source added.
Last week, a gunman with a fanny pack fatally shot a 21-year-old Citi Bike rider in East Flatbush, the outlet noted.
