NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A group of dirt bikers beat and robbed an 80-year-old man after crashing into his car in Brooklyn last weekend, police said Friday as they released images of three suspects.
The victim was driving his car on Cypress Avenue, near Flushing Avenue, in Bushwick around 7:15 p.m. Saturday when a man on a dirt bike struck his car.
The victim pulled over to the side of the road and got out of his car to exchange information with the dirt bike rider. That's when a group of other men, also on dirt bikes, surrounded him, police said.
The men pushed the victim to the ground, kicked him multiple times and stole his cellphone before fleeing on their dirt bikes, according to police.
The victim suffered multiple injuries. He was treated at the scene by EMS.
The property damage to his car exceeded $1,000, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
Earlier this week, Mayor Eric Adams held an event in Red Hook where dozens of illegal dirt bikes and ATVs were crushed by a bulldozer.
