FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New York City man was arrested on Thursday for the murder of a New Jersey man earlier that day, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office announced on Friday.
Jahkoy Monsanto, 24, was arrested at the New Brunswick train station, where police recovered a knife they believe was used to fatally stab 20-year-old J'Corey Breedy.
Police found Breedy with stab wounds to his abdomen just before 12:30 p.m. at his Franklin Township home.
Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe the two men knew each other.
Monsanto is facing murder and weapons charges.
He's being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
