NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A New York City teacher was "reassigned" after she was caught in an "inappropriate sexual act" during a virtual class with students, according to a report from the Special Commissioner of Investigation for city schools.
The October 2020 report, which was obtained by the New York Post, said Spanish teacher Amanda K. Fletcher "appeared to suck the nipple of an unidentified topless male" during the class last September.
The incident happened as students from the Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering were still on the virtual class, according to the SCI report.
"This behavior is absolutely unacceptable," Department of Education spokeswoman Danielle Filson told the Post.
Following her reassignment, the DOE "will pursue disciplinary action" against Fletcher, 37, who remains employed with the city, according to the report.
