NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD decided to transfer the commanding officer of an NYPD precinct in the Bronx to a patrol borough in Manhattan after learning he was having a relationship with a female officer, according to a report.

The NYPD is reassigning Captain Thomas Fraser from the Bronx's 45th Precinct, which includes Co-op City, Throgs Neck and City Island, to Patrol Borough Manhattan North this week, the New York Post reported, citing information from sources, as well as an internal transfer record.

An anonymous tipster informed the NYPD Fraser was having a relationship with a female police officer who worked at his precinct, and the commanding officer "admitted to it," the outlet reported.

An investigation found the officer "didn't receive any special treatment, the two are both single and the relationship was consensual," according to the outlet.

The NYPD does not forbid relationships between bosses and their underlings, but it is "frown[ed] upon," the outlet noted.

The Post couldn't reach Fraser for comment on the transfer, and his union declined to comment.
