NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly choked in front of a Midtown hotel early Wednesday, authorities said.
At about 1:15 a.m., officers received a call from Mount Sinai Hospital were told that EMS had rushed in an unidentified, unconscious woman believed to be in her 30s and appeared to have been choked.
Police then went to the Hotel Riu Plaza New York Times Square — which had nothing to do with the incident, other than its location — the spot where medics had picked up the woman and found video that allegedly shows a man dragging her in front of the hotel, officials said.
A spokesperson for the hotel told 1010 WINS, "We lament the violent incident that took place in front of our hotel. No guest nor employee was involved. RIU is actively collaborating with the authorities in their investigation."
The suspect in the video was seen wearing a tan coat, black pants, a black knitted hat and white sneakers. He was also carrying a black shoulder bag, the NYPD said.
An investigaion remains ongoing.
