NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police are investigating after an NYPD officer was bit by a man who had gotten into an argument with a worker inside a Queens bike store Monday afternoon, authorities said.
According to police, at about 1 p.m., a 35-year-old customer got into a dispute with a 28-year-old employee at the Fly E-Bike store located at 41-17 Broadway in Astoria.
Before police arrived, the suspect allegedly struck the employee with a motorcycle helmet before another worker stabbed him, cops said.
While arresting him, the customer bit the officer, causing him to suffer a minor cut.
The worker who attacked the suspect ran off and remains at large, officials said.
An investigation is ongoing.
