NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD officer was in critical condition on Thursday after crashing a patrol car while responding to a 911 call in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, police said.

The officer was breathing but unconscious while being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Nissan was hospitalized in stable condition.
