
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD officer was shot with a BB gun in Queens early Thursday morning, police said.
The BB pellet was fired from an elevated position around 1:45 a.m. in a courtyard at the Ravenswood Houses in Astoria.
Police said multiple pellets were fired by someone and that one struck the officer in his right hand as he was sitting in his squad car.
The officer suffered mild bruising and refused medical attention at the scene.
Police closed 36th Avenue at 21st Street amid an investigation.
