NYPD officer struck by driver fleeing traffic stop in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A fleeing driver hit an NYPD officer who was writing him a ticket in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sunday evening, police said.

The officer was issuing the driver a summons shortly before 6 p.m. at Fulton Street and Nostrand Avenue when the man fled the traffic stop, according to police.

As he drove away, his white BMW struck the officer, police said.

The injured cop was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.

The driver remained at large on Monday. His license plate is not known, police said.
