NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An NYPD officer shot and killed a dog while responding to a scene with three loose animals in Queens on Thursday, officials said.

It happened just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of 114th Road and 155th Street in South Jamaica.

Video obtained by 1010 WINS shows the dog—a Siberian Husky mix named Princess, according to her owner—wandering on a driveway before the shooting.

Cops were trying to corral the dogs after receiving a 911 call from a woman claiming the animals were menacing her and her children.

Police said that Princess bit an officer, which is when one of the cops shot and killed her.

The owner of the three dogs was tearful when she spoke to 1010 WINS, and said that her pets escaped the yard when she took her kids to school that morning.

One neighbor claimed that the dogs running around is a regular occurrence.

"Always on the street, running around, straight up," he said. "I don't think they bite no one, but they bite the cop this morning, that's why he shot it."

The officer that was bitten was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
