NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An elderly Asian man was allegedly punched in the head in an unprovoked hate-fueled attack that is now being investigated as a possible hate crime by the NYPD.
The New York Post reports the attacker — a "hate-spewing homeless man" — punched the 81-year-old victim in the head just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday near 420 Lexington Ave.
The homeless man, 55-year-old Barry Morris, reportedly knocked the victim to the ground while shouting, "We have to get rid of all the ninjas!."
Citizen app video showed the victim laying on the ground in the aftermath of the brutal assault as police tended to him.

The Post reports Morris was arrested and charged with assault.
The victim was taken to NYU Medical Center suffering from a fractured hip and bruises on his head.
